Magnetic fields are invisible – and that is precisely the problem when analysing them.

You take selective measurements with individual Hall sensors, laboriously move them around the room, interpolate between measurement points and hope you don't miss anything important. This sequential sampling not only takes time – it also provides an incomplete picture. Critical field anomalies between the measurement points remain undetected. Dynamic processes are almost impossible to capture. The overall picture of the magnetic field remains speculation.

HallinSight® fundamentally revolutionises magnetic field analysis. As the world's first three-dimensional magnetic field camera in a single point, the system from the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS makes the invisible visible. Instead of sequential point measurements, you capture all three components of the magnetic field simultaneously – in real time, with high precision and completely.

The technology behind it is groundbreaking: Vector measurements capture not only the strength but also the direction of the magnetic field in all three dimensions. With µT-level resolution, you can detect the smallest field variations that indicate material defects, hidden currents or quality defects. The spatial resolution of 2.5 mm – with interpolation options for even greater detail – precisely localises anomalies.

Speed changes what is possible: up to 250 measurements per second transform static snapshots into dynamic films. You can see how magnetic fields develop, how eddy currents arise, how magnetic domains tilt. Processes that previously took place in secret can suddenly be analysed.

Integration into existing systems is well thought out: USB connection for immediate connection, serial ASCII protocols for industrial environments. The Windows-based GUI software visualises magnetic fields intuitively – no abstract columns of numbers, but understandable 3D representations. LabVIEW and Python libraries are available for automated measurements or your own developments.

The magnetic neutrality of the system guarantees unbiased measurements. HallinSight® does not influence the field being measured – a critical advantage for precise analyses. Integrated temperature compensation eliminates thermal drifts. System-wide calibration ensures absolute accuracy.

The areas of application are diverse and critical: In magnet manufacturing, you can check the quality of each individual magnet in seconds instead of minutes.
