Notes on Early Access

Early Access at LZE GmbH

Early Access products are research and development objects, not series or commercial products. They are exclusively provided to companies, research institutions and project partners who actively participate in testing and further developing our technologies.

Nature and purpose

Early access products are in the development or evaluation stage. The aim is to validate them under real conditions and identify potential for optimisation. They are provided on the basis of an evaluation or development contract, not as a purchase within the meaning of the British Civil Code.

Ownership and use

Ownership of the early access products remains with LZE GmbH. The devices, components or software modules provided may only be used within the agreed test or evaluation framework. Transfer, productive series use or integration into commercial applications is excluded.

Functional scope and liability

Early access products may have functional limitations, errors or unstable behaviour. They do not necessarily comply with all regulatory requirements (e.g. CE, EMC, RED or safety certifications). No warranty or liability is assumed for specific performance characteristics, continuous operational stability or compatibility. Liability claims shall only exist within the scope of the statutory minimum requirements (intent, gross negligence, injury to life, limb or health).

Return and end of project

After completion of the agreed test period, LZE GmbH may demand the return of the products provided, in particular if technical, safety-related or regulatory conditions change. The specific handling is project-specific in consultation with the respective partner.

Legal significance for our customers

  • No purchase contract, but rather an evaluation or development agreement.
  • No acquisition of ownership, but rather a time-limited right of use for testing purposes.
  • No classic warranty rights (no subsequent performance, reduction or withdrawal in the event of technical defects).
  • Use is at your own risk, unless there is intentional or grossly negligent behaviour on the part of LZE.
  • There are no update obligations; updates provided are voluntary or project-related.

FAQ

Why does ownership remain with LZE?

The ownership regulation legally assigns the products to research status and corresponds to the practice of scientific evaluation agreements. It serves to comply with safety, liability and regulatory requirements.

Do I have to return an early access product after the end of the project?

The terms and conditions provide for a return option. The implementation is agreed upon by mutual consent in the respective project.

Can I use early access products productively?

No. Use is only permitted within the contractually defined test or evaluation framework.
